Nian Jia (年假），its English translation is Annual Leave. It could be understood as the holiday leaves we took during the Spring Festival as one of the most popular traditional festivals. Currently, it has three days. For the Spring Festival of year 2017,it is from Jan.27th to Feb.2nd. Totally 7 days. From 3 to 7 is because two weekends are extended. As a return, Jan.22nd and Feb.4th would be working days.

There is another issue also translated as Annual Leave that related to the period you have worked per labor laws.

This could be understood as extra leaves for employees except holiday leaves given per national traditional festivals such as the Spring Festival or Dragon Boat Festival and international holidays like Labor Holiday etc.. The above chart shows that 5 day leaves are given to the people who has worked between 1-10 years including 10. You will be given 10day leaves if you have worked over 10 years but up to 20 years. 15 days are the maximum with this program for the people who has worked over 20 years.

If an employee who graduated in autumn of year 2012, till the end of 2016, who has worked over 4 years and it falls in the first range. Accordingly, 5 days as annual leave will be given. If he has not taken the leave this year, then he could apply to have it as an extensionto the Spring Festival Holiday. Whenever as an employee to take the leave, it is strongly advised not to bring an impact on his job especially if he works in a seasonal business like ski club. Companies could also set their own rules as long as they do not break labor laws or regulations.
